Independece Day, Week, Month, Year, etc...

It has been rather silent here for awhile and I found it to be rather stifling. So I opened my own blog.

Not much to say, or anything witty at all.

Sadness reigns...

Our very own resident Frenchie, aka. Nellie, has just gone to France today.
Quite sad. Not even the fact that there had brownies two days in a row, (and leftovers for one of those events) is enough to make up for it. Yes it is that bad.
We will miss you Canz!! And keep a sharp eye out in the publications, you never know when you will see your name.
*whistles innocently

STEM mk.2

So no pants day has come and gone and the world has kept spinning. No we didn't celebrate no pants day, it was far too cold for it.

On a much lighter note, we are out of quarantine. W000t!!!!! The home voted ourselves out of quarantine the day before the party. (Jenny's party that is) We got there quite early, (around 9:45) to drop off the strobe, and the black light to be used for the party. The only problem was that everyone was a 'Baiano'. They said the party was going to start at 9:30, but half of the people weren't there when it was 10:30!!! Ok, so the party started at 11 something, but it was worth the wait. I think...

Fast-fowards
On Sunday we went the the Church of Love over at Penha. And watched the young'uns play for the first time. Some of the people over there decided to make their own band, so they premiered last night. Twas ok. But the highlight of the night was definately the singing. Mine that is. I was practically pushed on stage. Granted it was a 14 year old girl who pushed me, and the room was nearly empty, but still... Gabe got the drums and left John C. drooling, since he never knew that Gabe played drums. *mutters something about punk rock bands*

So of course the first song of choice was the all time favorite 'Marianne'. Pamela (the same one who pushed me on the 'stage') was trying to push Marianne to the front of the 'large' crowd. (Ok fine, it was only a couple of people) Naturally, being in the limelight, my mind went blank several times, and reverted to mumbling the words until someone started singing the lyrics themselves. But with a little more practice I could definately become the new STEM.

Putting ambition aside, I didn't get very many compliments on my singing. Probably due to the fact that the room was almost empty. But if it is any small comfort, I do have a new fan, Pamela. Sporting her pigtails she was one of the loudest people screaming in the room. (I think she was the only one. Heh) Singing hits such as, 'Marianne', 'Jonny's Shoes' and 'Mr. President' we had the crowd begging us for more, but were forced to close up shop due to to 'techical problems'. (aka. 10:00 means silence in their neighborhood) But all in all the 'show' was good, the 'fans' were happy, and we did good for our first gig. We = Me (vocals), Gabe (drums), John C. (guitar), and we had the guest appearance of Phil (electric guitar and vocals).
So there you have it, the first show of the 'LIMbiscuits'.

P.S. I think I'll open an official fan club. It might help us recruit some more fans. *snicker

Birthday Frolic

On saturday we had a little 'party' or something for the taurus's. The BSC came over and we had caipivodka. Twas fun.
I got my own personal 'GN' for my birthday. Complete with a mohawk cover. *snicker
Everyone signed it. Here is Nellie's signature...

Fast-forwards
On sunday our home and the BSC (again!!!) went to a park and had a cook-out\churrasco\thingy.
Basketball and soccer were the first items on the menu. (I hadn't played basketball for almost two years, not counting the BAM) By the time I joined up with the rest of the people, (the girls) I found out I had just missed an "X'y" devotions. (Don't ask)

Here is John C. and Gabi uhh... Doing something...

The X Files...

Anyways, in the end we all had fun. Lots of meat, a little bit of beer, and lots of fun.

It wasn't for my birthday by the way. (Just in case any of you were wondering. That just happens when everyone gets stuck at home with a quarantine. Thank God for other homes who realize the futility of quarantines.

(Disclaimer! Am not dissing ALL quarantines. Only quarantines that have VERY remote chances of other people getting whatever it is that they can get.)

P.S. Thanks to Canz, Fifi, Grubs, and Jules for the rum. They got it on Friday or so, but forgot to give it to me till yesterday. *cough*Cannelle*cough*

I am officially.... OLD!!

Yes that is right. I am officially old. (Or so they tell me)

My 21rst birthday was fraught with excitement. Work, work, and umm... Oh yes. More work. Normal day. (As all birthdays tend to be) Some of the few highlights of the day...

1) Tequila!!! (YEAH BABAY!!!!!!!!!! Ahem.)
2) BROWNIES!!!!! (YAY!!! A whole batch just for ME!!! Thank you Gabi!!!!)
3) Nanye's wonderful birthday greetings.

Oh darn! She didn't. I guess that just leaves 1 and 2. Oh well to be expected. Some of my best (old time) friends didn't remember so it's all good.
Kudos go out to all those who remembered! (Ok fine. Even to you who didn't remember. Yes, you too Nan. Kudos!)

P.S. Read the 'new' Shooting Staight.

My very own "Knock Knock" Joke

Am pressed for time, so I will give you the short short short version.
It goes something like this...
During the afternoon (yesterday) a mixture of giggles and cackling was heard in the corner of the office. It was Fifi, giggling at "Knock Knock" jokes she found online.
"Oh this is a good one! This is a good one!" She was yelling out all afternoon.
So by the time dinner came around I was hearing a knocking in my head. It went something like this...

"Knock Knock"
Who's there?
Mary.
Mary who?
Mariaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaanne!! (I want to be your man tonight)

Unfortunately no one seemed to appreciate it. People just don't know talent when they see it, even if it is dancing two feet in front of them.

Anyone else have a new Knock Knock joke? Let us know in the comments...

Pictures

Darn blogger service won't let me upload pictures. Have been trying to upload pictures since Tuesday, but nothing doing.
So I guess I'll just have to link to Cannelle's blog. her_wee_little_blog
Anyways, enjoy. Hopefully next time blogger will be nice and let me play. *sob sob*

I heard some people I know are checking out this blog. That makes for some boring blog posts, as I have my nerdy reputation to live up to. So lets see how that plays out.

So Empty, and so.... BORING!!!

Concurring with Nan, the bloog has been rather dull without her thrilling accounts of her day to day.

But I dare not post my inconsequential day to day happenings, lest I oust Nanye's firm grip on the title of 'Queen of Trivialities'. (I have a slight feeling that 'Queen' just won't do for me)

And speaking of 'Trivia', I am off to a rather exciting episode of our local, 'Home Council'. Oh the joy!!!

PS. For the techie side of you, (If you have one at all) I just got Mac OS X 10.4.5 running native on my PC! Yay!!! *goes dancing naked in the streets* *or not quite* (Sorry bout that, I just couldn't resist. :D )

iPod

Our dear friend Gabriel, aka. official Home-Jester, (Yes the one that wakes up on the wrong side of the bed and smacks into the wall) has just got his iPod.

A nifty little bugger, 30 gigs, video playback, etc...

It should be prove to be fun. (Now if only I could get my grubby little hands on it...)

Photos

I said I would post pics of our Feast, but Nellie already has posted some of the best ones, here and here.

Enjoy

Saturday fun

I couldn't stand the long hair so I got desperate and asked Nellie to cut my hair for me. This is what happened.

(Photos taken down for personal security. If you were the unlucky one who hasn't seen it they can be aquired by paying a small fee... >:D Or just drop me an email.)

Moral of the story??
Don't ask Cannelle to cut your hair or you might end up like this!!
(It could be a good thing though. Heh)

Because the old is better.... or something

Due to 'technical dificulties' and just plain lazyness and ugliness, I have decided to go back to the old bloog template. (And this way Nan won't hunt me down)

Will post some pics of our Feast dinner as soon as I can.

Changes

Yessss!!! The much dreaded bloog change.

Say what you think about it.

This is the first day, so sorry if there are any quirks. We (I) will be trying to iron them out within the next couple of days if the design sticks.

Sorry to all you IE users, but I haven't found a fix to the blog yet. And I am already lazy to look further. So... Use Firefox!!!

And yes it is green so that Nan won't get too angry. Heh.

*Off topic*
Here is Nell after some sun-tanning. *snicker (Don't kill me Nellie!!)

I... Am... That... HERO!!

Finally the 'stressful' extra-long week ended. (I got 4 extra days added to it) And I can finally crash and sleep longer than 7 AM.

The week was good. We had newcomers, visitors, and all manner of strangeness going on.

Speaking of strangeness, I was helping Katia fix her computer the other day, when she told me that her and Vix (My lovable, and extreeeeeeeeemly understanding boss (You are reading this right?) were discussing me.
I was disturbed to say the least, and was hoping that it wasn't anything bad, till she told me that they thought I was charming. Feeling rather good of myself after that, I continued setting up her laptop, as she sat beside me. Suddenly out of the blue she blurted out... "You look like the young version of that old actor. Clark Gable."

Anyways, after being thoroughly appalled at being compared to an early 1900's movie star, she went on to add the following...
"You know who else you look like?" By that time I was already foaming at the mouth, thinking of all the people who she could compare me too. "That old superman actor what is his name??" Someone in the office politely (while unsuccesfully holding in their laughter) called out. "Christopher Reeve?"
At that point I had been officially brain dead for almost a full minute. But the name awakened within me previously supressed memories. And I came to the full realization of what was my destiny.

To infinity and beyond!!!
No no! That is not it. Ah yes...
Up, up and away! *insert sound effect here* Whooosh!!!!

Since I have discovered my new calling in life, things have never been the same again.

Of course all of this falls perfectly under my plan for world domination.

It is hard living the life of a super-hero, the late nights, the millions of people saved who didn't even know it. And because of that, I haven't made any tests of my new found super-powers.

Time stands still for no one, even a super-hero. And so I must be off.

I will fill you all in next time on my trial of my super-powers.
I am going to jump off the tallest building I can find. (If I can find the bus money to get there of course)

Farewell. May good always triumph!

And may the forces of evil wither away as the leaves wither away in fall. And may... etc. etc.

Rio, back, and Rio again!!

I barely came back from Rio and now I am going back. Oh the joy. (The best thing about it is that I am getting a ride. YAY!!)

Anyways, vacations was good. Was able to spend 'quality' time with both Rashid and mareeyan. Which in itself means LOTS of funny moments. The 'Eureka' one does deserve a post in itself when I find the time. Yes, time is a problem. Free time that is.

The parties were fun. Lots of beer at the first one, and lots of dancing, and 'provisioned' beer at the second. *snicker* Good stuff.

Got to see some old friends, make some new ones, and catch up on the beach. (Didn't get burned this time) Lets see if I can get a decent burn this time around, provided it isn't raining. *scowl*

Bleble and Nan both introduced me to Akon's 'Mr. Lonely'. I laughed when I heard it. The little chipmunk voice is too much. Apparantly it is the all the rage here in ye old SP as well. (According to my sources)

Hopefully the trip back to Rio will be uneventful, being that my ride leaves at 4 in the morning or so. Hmm.
